onlyone
alright. this is real weak, but im sure someone can try and help me with what i have. i want to know this song, the tune has been in my head but i dont know many of the words, actually hardly any at all. in the beginning, there is something like what it would sound like if you tapped the front of your foot and then your heal right away afterward over and over... like a dripdrop dripdrop kind of thing, thats the best way i can describe it i guess. i think the entry may start something like "wasting away..." anybody help me? Endymion
Could it by any chance start with "ticking away" and not "wasting away"? :-)
edna
Or do you know a little more lyrics? This could be what Endymion suggests, "ticking away the moments that make up a dull day...etc" from Dark side of the moon. We got an expert on it, it´s DanielJ! purecharm459
I think we're all thinking the same thing. Sounds like "Time" from "The Dark Side of The Moon", Pinkfloyd's masterpiece.
miamisammy29
MUSICAL INTERLUDE: "Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day You fritter and waste the hours in an off hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your hometown Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find that ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: :guitar: And you run and run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking And racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or a half page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say"

_jr_
When I was single, I actually had this song set on my stereo to play every morning, instead of my alarm clock going off. A masterpiece in desperation.

Aunt_Acid
Wow, I'm suprised I didn't find this thread sooner. Definitely sounds like time. what it would sound like if you tapped the front of your foot and then your heal right away afterward over and over... like a dripdrop dripdrop kind of thing, thats the best way i can describe it i guess. Interesting way of describing a clock.
