I recall seeing the Norelco dictation Compact Cassette recorder sometime in the early 1960's. Much later, I saw the Wollensak/3M Cassette recorder in use at schools, first in monaural, then in stereo version as the 1960's rolled on. "Techmoan" takes you behind the scenes at Philips as they moved from open reel/reel-to-reel tape recorders to the Compact Cassette. I didn't see Compact Cassettes becoming a audio high fidelity recording/playback medium until Advent Corporation used the Wollensak chassis and Chromium Dioxide tape to change the world...
