windy1
Which artist (if any) is the first use of the Wah Wah pedal attributed to? That sound changed the sound of rock dramatically. I heard it was Hendrix but I think it maybe someone else. Maybe not an artist at all but an engineer or something. Anybody know? Game time gotta go.... MindCrime
I think you're right about Jimi, he used a similarity called the "Rotovibe", which has a pitch modulator with added vibrato. Just listen to "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" the use of this pedal is remarkable.
MuzikTyme
I think the wah wah sound was first played in Jazz on the trumpet. Then, we first started hearing it in country music on the steel guitar. 1967, Clyde McCoy designed the first wah wah pedal for the guitar and Hendrix and Clapton, I'm pretty sure, made them famous. Although, certainly, they weren't the first to use them.
