Along the Roadside

This is my fourth song (now it's in some order apart from Beach of Memories at number eight). Inspired by my graduation in 2005, it's about moving on, progressive rock tune.

Along the Roadside

Standing on this empty road,

everyone's gone their separate way.

We all knew this day would come,

and now the debt must be paid.

The friends we made may be gone,

but still are inside our hearts.

They will be with us forever,

even after the road parts.

Don't leave me stranded,

along the roadside.

You're still in my heart

but it's not the same;

along the roadside.

I wonder how you're doing,

I've tired to keep in touch.

But the time and space between us

is simply way too much.

Don't leave me stranded,

along the roadside.

Things just aren't the same

without you.

There are no guideposts,

no signs or a single streetlight.

The world is dark and lonely

just like an eternal night.

Don't leave me stranded,

along the roadside.

You're still in my heart

but it's not the same;

along the roadside.
