hooked on a feeling

I first heard " Hooked on a Feeling" in 1971 or 1973, it wasn´t BJThomas, from 1969, nor Blue Suede (of course, it´s from 1974). It had the "hooka-chooga-ooka" background... I guess it must be some british version or anything which didn´t make the top in USA. Anybody knows anything about it, please?

Could it be Jonathan King? It must be previous to 1974.

Edna, are you sure it isn't Blue Swede? Their version had the ooga-chooka backgroond.

Sure, I used to sing it with my school friends and I left that school & country in 1973. I heard the tarantino-Suede version and it´s more rough, it´s neither David Hasselhoff nor Vonda Sheppard... well, I guess there must be plenty of versions that didn´t get into the charts, thanks anyway...

Jonathan King originally did the "ooka chunka" arrangement and Blue Swede lifted it note for note. King is the one you want.

I recently downloaded the Jonathon King version for my partner. She said that version was OK but nowhere near as good as the Dr Hook version. So I downloaded that too and discovered that both versions are almost identical. Ooga chaka ooga ooga ooga chaka............

Really? Another version of HOAF? I didn´t know Dr. Hook covered it... are you sure? I can´t find it nor Google nor Yahoo nor lyricstracer, no place...This is getting more interesting...

I like B.J. Thomas version best because it has that Coral Electric Sitar sound.I love this sound and I'm planning on purchasing an electric sitar soon.
