Otokichi
It's Monday morning, July 4th, 2016. No giant alien spaceship threatens to annihilate mankind; all that I can hear is the chirping of birds. Fireworks on the 4th is mostly handled by professional pyrotechnicians, and there is only one store that can legally sell firecrackers for the few that purchased mayhem permits. So, what movie or TV show shall I watch instead of drinking American moonshine or firing off illegal aerial fireworks? "Moscow on the Hudson"? "The Iron Giant"? "Liberty: The American Revolution"? "My Big Fat Greek Wedding"? "Turn: Washington's Spies"? What movie/tv show defines your region/nation in your mind? Edited July 4, 2016 by Otokichi On the SyFy channel, it's time "To Serve Man".... Carl
It just occurred to me that "pyrotechnician" is a job. I may have missed my calling.
Mike
it's so funny that you mention the media of film to express a connection to July 4th. I was watching America the beautiful(a virtual fly-over scenic film) showing Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, redwood forrest, pacific coast. places yet discovered back when we began America. What a beautiful collection of amazing place to celebrate our birthday!
