This one's tough. I have too many to mention, so let me make a small list of songs in other languages that I like instead ::

- The ABBA compilation, Pa Svenka :)

- "Single Bed" by Sharan Q (one of the best songs I've heard in Japanese)

- "Nena" by Miguel Bose (great song in Spanish)

- "Lambada" by Kaoma (hehe :: it's cheezy and old and great since a lot of people have already forgotten this one-hit wonder sung in Portuguese)

- "Kuenstliche Welten" by Wolfsheim (wonderful SynthPop tune in German)

- Several highlights from Madama Butterfly, which are in Italian

- "Sweet Lullaby" by Deep Forest (sung in an tribal language)

- The Gregorian chants that are sung in Latin... bands like Enigma, Deep Forest, Dead Can Dance, and Delirium make use of this and reach out to greater audiences.

- "Sexy Boy" by Air (French SynthPop :headphones: )

Those are about it for now :headphones:

Rammstein "Du Hast", the first time i ever tried X, me and my friend brushed each others hair and listed to this song on repeat for quite a while.

Dude, that must've been some trip :jester:

I agree about Rammstein though, but that's far from my favorite song by them, I would go with Engel or Feuer Frei as my ultimate favorite by the band. I've also heard a few tracks remixed with KMFDM that were top notch & worth checking out.

"Wêr Bisto" by Twarres which is sung in Frisian, the offical language in North Holland.

Truly beautiful song...here it is translated in English....

"When I saw you long time ago

Oh, how much it hurts whenever I think about it again (2x)

I search you

I hear you

I feel you, again and again (2x)

Oeh..

Here am I

Where are you

It?s been so long

Here am I

Where are you

It?s been too long

You?re nothing else but sweet

For you just don?t do anything wrong

I love you, like you are

Just for you to know

Here am I

Where are you

It?s been so long

Here am I

Where are you

It?s been too long

You?re nothing else but sweet

For you just don?t do anything wrong

I love you, like you are

Just for you to know

I search you

I hear you

I feel you, again and again (2x)"

From her Black Ivory Soul album, "Afrika" by Angelique Kidjo is a great song. Actually, every song on that album is exceptional. A duet with Dave Matthews on that album has him translating two of her lines to English.

(the English lines:)

You don't have to be old to be wise

The bird doesn't wait until it dies to fly

You don't have to be old to be wise

Can't you hear the baby crying?

There was a Spanish song on the Top 40 about 15 - 20 years ago titled "Ares Tu" that was very well done. I do not recall the artist.
