That's a terrific songs, but I don't have a clue what it's about. Gord Downie doesn't talk about his songs - we approached him for an interview a while ago and he politely declined.

As a huge Hip fan I know Downie writes alot of symbolic lyrics but doesn't care to talk about what he was thinking during the writing. I've seen him interviews & the most he said about the lyrics was that it would have different meanings depending on the listener. He's very quiet and keeps a low profile. Difficult to figure the guy out
