Uncle Joe
IMO one of the most underrated singers of her generation. They spend too much space mentioning her big commercial hit Blame it On The Bossa Nova and on her career singing with husband, Steve Lawrence. But she had so many wonderful solo songs/albums. She was also a wonderful person. RIP Eydie. RIP Eydie
edna
I agree... She had an amazing style... Thank you for the music, Mrs Gorme... And this time, bossa-nova had nothing to do... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44UNJdOmQUA
bluesboy
Aah Eydie, RIP Delightful style... She and Steve were part of the peripheral Rat Pack.
Steel2Velvet
She was style and class, had a great jazz voice with an amazing range. She made her husband look good. Was the better talent of the two, but was content to stand (albeit fairly equally) in his shadow. You are right, Joe. She was so much more than that silly Top 40 song. I say silly because Bossa Nova is not even a dance, as the song suggests.
