ufo8mycat26600
Being an international forum i was wondering if anyone remembers the [1989] Aussie band 1927, probably most well known for their hit 'That's When I Think of You'? They were sort of born out of the band Moving Pictures who had the HUGE #1 hit WHAT ABOUT ME? in 1982
MindCrime
I can't say I remember those bands, but I do remember another Aussie group called Midnight Oil, who hit it big (even in the States) with Beds are Burning in 1987, & then again in 1990 with Blue Sky Mining. XXX
I have that Moving Pictures song, but I've only heard of 1927. They didn't get any airplay here in the Americas. The Aussie bands that did were the usual we all know about: Midnight Oil, The Church, The Birthday Party, Men At Work, Kylie Minogue (bleh!). There's also NZ bands like Split Enz and Crowded House (which are sort of the same since they were started by the Finn bros.)
MindCrime
Wow, I never realized that The Church were Aussie, or that Crowded House was from New Zealand. INXS was another big 80's band that came from down under.
