If it doesn't make it, I'm going to suggest a "Novelty Songs" Special somewhere down the track. It would be a natural for that and I'd vote for it. edna
I don't think the noms belong to anybody. I would be very glad if someone nominates "I've Been Hurt" by Bill Deal and the Rhondells and it makes #1...
edna
...in fact, I recall someone other than me nominated "Love Will Keep Us Together" (Captain&Tenille), which I nominated a couple of times (or more) and I was glad it made #1 last week... Sedaka is back...
OLD 55
That was me ! I try not to nominate OP's. A couple of years ago, someone posted "I nominated that song and they wouldn't vote for it, but you nominated it and they did.". After that I always did an Archive search before I nominated. However it's virtually impossible now to search 300+ TT Archives - and some are still to be updated. I usually do go back through recent Archives to check my noms though. I pulled one recently when someone told me she'd nominated it before.

Brad_M
Thanks, Kenne and Darryl, for counting up the votes and making the final count post. I got up late today and didn't have time to do it before I went to work this morning. I also had a tiring day at work and I wasn't looking forward to doing all that when I got home tonight, so it was a nice surprise to find it done when I logged in. You guys rock! OLD 55
Kenne did most of the work ! A Team effort. I'm not actually away, but busy most days this week. We've been around at my late Mum-In-Law's house with Val's sister, brothers, spouses, cleaning it all out before the sale is finalised in 2 days. Those women are so fussy ! They clean everything that doesn't move. Tomorrow we're all having having lunch out together, before some Family fly back to Townsville - about 1,000 kilometres North of Brisbane. Then we have a few other things to finalise over the next couple of days. But I'll be here to vote.
OLD 55
Good nomination Phil I wouldn't have tipped Wooly Bully to be #1, but it's great to see a Novelty song get there. We certainly (collectively) have diverse taste.
phil
Thanks Darryl. Wooly Bully is a classic AM radio tune. Great to see Our Day Will Come make it too. Edited June 24, 2013 by Guest
