Lucky
What is the ruling on dates for nominated songs that were only performed live and not in the recording studio? Is it when the song was recorded live or when it first appeared on an album? This applies to both my Bruce Springsteen and Joe's David Byrne picks for this week. (which incidentally is originally by Whitney Houston, not Donna Summer as stated above.) Both songs were performed live several years before they were actually published on a live album. Any thoughts or input on this? Kenne, this has come up before and we did exactly as you did this time - went with the earliest verifiable performance/live recording of the song. Any thoughts or input on this? I stand corrected and I apologize deeply to the late Donna Summer. As for the version....I just picked the best sounding version on Youtube.
