Shawna
I saw "Zero Dark Thirty" yesterday, and was actually disappointed in Jessica Chastain... From everything I've heard, I was expecting Day-Lewis caliber, and she just doesn't have it. So I changed my vote to Naomi Watts. And then I looked for Jason Clarke on the list of Best Supporting Actors, because surely he HAD to be there, he was by FAR the best actor in that movie, and he's not there. Which is wholly not right. He became Dan just like Day-Lewis became Lincoln. Disappointing his name isn't there.
pinkstones
I'll say this - if Skyfall doesn't win Best Original Song, I'm going to be really, really, REALLY pissed off.
Jenny
I've only seen 2 of the nominated movies, "Argo" and "Silver Linings Playbook", so I don't want to vote with such limited knowledge. I don't understand how Jacki Weaver got a nomination, though. I'm sure she's a great actress, but she doesn't do much in "Silver Linings Playbook", IMO.... Mike
Mike, Why did you not include Best Director in this pool? Oops, I fixed it. good catch Brad. I'll say this - if Skyfall doesn't win Best Original Song, I'm going to be really, really, REALLY pissed off. I heartily agree. I haven't felt this way about a Bond theme song since 1977's "The Spy Who Loved Me by Carly Simon" How Ironic, somebody does it better, this time. Adele's Skyfall theme is so soulful, so rich, so powerful and so smooth. Amazing. Best Actor - Day-Lewis Best Actress - Lawrence Best Supporting Actor - De Niro Best Supporting Actress - Hathaway Best Director - Haneke Best Picture - Argo Best Original Song - Skyfall Best Original Score - Lincoln

CanAm
Best Picture: Argo (not that I think it deserves it) Best Actor: Daniel Day-Lewis (although I wouldn't be surprised if Joaquin Phoenix pulled off the upset) Best Actress: Jennifer Lawrence Best Supporting Actress: Anne Hathaway Best Supporting Actor: Tommy Lee Jones Best Director: Michael Haneke Best Song: Skyfall (one of the best Bond songs in recent memory, but still falls short of the great ones like Diamonds Are Forever and You Only Live Twice) I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing the great Shirley Bassey tonight. Best Score: I'm torn between the Life of Pi and Lincoln, but since the Academy voters are predominantly old white guys, I'll go with Lincoln.
