RonJonSurfer
"Take a Letter, Maria" is a song I've had stuck in my head since I first heard it many years ago. A classic in my book.

Carl
His big hit was the song that kept Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in business. The studio launched when some of the musicians at FAME studios got frustrated with management and decided to start their own business. Jerry Wexler sent them Cher and a few other acts, but nothing caught on. Finally, they did the quirky tune "Take A Letter Maria" by the lesser-known R.B. Greaves, and they had their hit. The next thing you know, the Rolling Stones are rolling in to record, Bob Seger is coming down from Michigan, and Rod Stewart shows up from England. Some of the biggest songs and albums of the '70s were recorded at MSSS, but it took Mr. Greaves and his song about falling in love with a secretary to get them going.
