Jimmy Webb

[Carl]

Make a list of top songwriters, and Jimmy Webb will probably be on it. Dan pulled off a great interview with him recently, where Jimmy explained why Richard Harris was, in fact, the perfect choice to record MacArthur Park.

Another very interesting section deals with The Highwaymen, who were the Country music supergroup that got their name from Jimmy's song.

Also of note was his work at Motown, which I never know about, and his stories about producing The 5th Dimension.

Jimmy Webb interview

[Shawna]

Jimmy's got some really interesting history and some songs that you'll be shaking your head about "he wrote that?"

I love interviews like this that have so much info on stuff that comes at you sideways when you aren't looking.
