MindCrime
What are some songs that were all the rage when they were released but have since been forgotten?
Shawna
wow, I'm sure there's a HUGE list for this! first one that popped into my head was "My Sharona."
MindCrime
People still remember My Sharona though, it receives airplay and is considered a classic but you are right, from what I know they overplayed it and kind of burned it out for post-chart airplay. Shawna
so you're talking about songs that have been completely erased off the map? I can only think of ones that I hear very seldom anymore... and when I do, I think, "Oh yeah, I forgot about that song!"
MindCrime
can only think of ones that I hear very seldom anymore... and when I do, I think, "Oh yeah, I forgot about that song!" exactly, those kinds of songs
Shawna
for example, "Go All The Way" by the Raspberries. But I know they play that sometimes on really oldies stations, it's just that I rarely hear it. "Mandy" by Barry Manilow
Ombre Vivante
The Alan Parsons Project had two hits that used to be played a lot on the radio and then disappeared completely off the charts and the public mind: "Eye In The Sky" and "Don't Answer Me" Name one radio station that plays these two songs on a regular basis. I think that's the gist of this topic, right?

I hear Hey Jude, WYWH, and We Are the Champs all the time on the classic rock stations here, they're probably among the top 40 most played songs of the era. Uncle Joe
I guess we're lucky here in Philly. Every song listed so far are songs that I hear fairly regularly here on either the classic rock station (WMGK)or the oldies station (WOGL).
