Farin Posted April 10, 2012 Report Posted April 10, 2012 I don't know Toronto or the Headpins, but I'll just go out on a limb and say that The White Stripes are/were not female fronted?
Rayzor Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Absolutely correct! Toronto and The Headpins are both Canadian bands. Told you it was easy! You're up
Farin Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 a bit harder again: Sonic Youth R.E.M. Garbage Nirvana The Smashing Pumpkins Foo Fighters
Farin Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Butch Vig? Which one would be the odd one out then?
Zabadak Posted April 11, 2012 Report Posted April 11, 2012 Well, is it Garbage then as Butch is actually in that band...?
MindCrime Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 R.E.M. has never had an album produced by Butch Vig if this is correct Zabadak can have partial credit and post the next list.
Farin Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 R.E.M. has never had an album produced by Butch Vig if this is correct Zabadak can have partial credit and post the next list. that's it! and I absolutely agree - your turn, Zabadak
Zabadak Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Haha thanks dudes. My options are in alphabetical order, which is not significant. Acoustic guitar Bass guitar Mandolin Spanish guitar
Lucky Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 No "The", just "Ramones" sorry, pet peeve of mine I apologize, please carry on - I just saw this comment. Had to stop and laugh.
Farin Posted April 16, 2012 Report Posted April 16, 2012 a bass guitar (usually) has 4 strings? I'm not really sure if a Mandolin has 6 strings though
Zabadak Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 Another one... grand piano! That was an examlpe of one that is not the odd one out, btw... Harp is an odd one out (if you see what imean)...
MindCrime Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 It isn't Mandolin for only being one word is it?
Zabadak Posted April 17, 2012 Report Posted April 17, 2012 No, think 70s UK album, instruments featured thereon...
Farin Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 You do realise that there were quite a few albums released in the UK in the 70s right? And if this is eg about an album that doesn't include a mandolin and a harp that wouldn't make it much easier (for me at least )
Zabadak Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 OK! This album was teh first for a UK-based label that is now a major player int he airline game. The instruments are all specifically named during the ending of side one, both sides contain one track only which are parts 1 and 2 of the album title...
Farin Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 ah okay, now I know for certain that I don't know the album myself - but I'll look it up if noone else give the solution
Rayzor Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 Zab... I'm confused and really don't even know where to begin looking for an answer
Farin Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 okay then... This album was teh first for a UK-based label that is now a major player int he airline game. The instruments are all specifically named during the ending of side one, both sides contain one track only which are parts 1 and 2 of the album title... The first UK release by Virgin Records was Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" from 1973 Acoustic guitar Bass guitar Mandolin Spanish guitar But according to Wikipedia Mike Oldfield actually played all four of these instruments? Acoustic guitar, bass guitar, electric guitar, Farfisa, Hammond, and Lowrey organs; flageolet, fuzz guitars, glockenspiel, "honky tonk" piano (piano modified to sound more percussive), mandolin, piano, "Piltdown Man", percussion, Spanish guitar, producer, "taped motor drive amplifier organ chord", timpani, vocals and tubular bells. so... I dunno
Zabadak Posted April 19, 2012 Report Posted April 19, 2012 (edited) Yes he did! But not all of them were introduced by Viv Stanshall! Bass guitar is the odd one out... Next? Edited April 19, 2012 by Guest old age
