_jr_
Aerosmith (11 times) some good, some great, some terrible KISS (6) Always good. Ted Nugent (5) Great energy, too distorted at times Iron Maiden (4) see above Van Halen (3) Eddie rules, Dave bites. Judas Priest (2) Didn't care for them either time. * Some of these acts were at the same show. Priest was opening for Kiss, etc. Onward Rush A clinic for drummers Accept german metal. Motley Crue (2)a fun show both times. Vince neil is awful, though Heart (2) first one great, 2nd one terrible Santana double billw/ Heart at Red Rocks in Colorado. Sweet Madonna Best sound Cheap Trick A lot of fun Neil Young bizarre, to say the least Thin Lizzy Saw them at the first Monsters of Rock, in 83. There were 8 other bands there, and Lizzy blew them all away. Top notch show. Meatloaf Blue Oyster Cult The Bangles Boston Whitesnake Twisted Sister WASP The Cars Dixie Chicks Randy Travis The Judds, (I'm generally opposed to them, but the wife....) Mary Chapin Carpenter Alice Cooper John Mellencamp And my centerpiece...Stevie Ray Vaughan Well, that's just off the top of my head. There are a lot of others, but I just can't remember them all. As you can see, I spent a lot of my youth going to concerts.

Sweet_Jane
I love my old punks: The Damned (10 times) The Buzzcocks (3 times) Dead Kennedys Stiff Little Fingers Stranglers (Hugh Cornwall's last tour with them) And the great post punk 80s: The Cure, Jesus & Mary Chain (3 times), Psychedelic Furs (3 times) For modern bands, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are kings. Best gigs experiences have to be my two Glastonburys (1992 and 2004) When I posted this reply I was very new to the boards and just listed a few of my favourites. But I now have a better understanding of what the majority of posters here like! Just wanted to let you know I've also seen the following (I'm trying to make friends!): Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Black Crows, David Bowie, the Cult, Motorhead... ... well, there is some proper rock there anyway! Uncle Joe
Latest one was Boz Scaggs, about a month ago. He's still great. Don't care to hear him sing "standards" though. Why are so many artists reverting to this? Because of the success of Rod Stewart? To lend a mature credibility to their careers? Whatever it is, I don't like it. But Boz's other stuff? Outstanding! scott
I love the Pixies, and was pretty excited when I heard about the reunion, though I haven't heard much since then, do you know if they're putting together a new album?
XXX
I've heard nothing about new recordings. Actually, the whole reunion tour hit me like a brick wall. I got a ticket just 'cause I was curious. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much since their glory days rest in the times of Doolittle, and there wasn't a chance for me to see them then. They played in top form in yesterday's show, so a new release would really be cool. They still got it after so many years.
edna
I never saw the Beatles live but I´ve dreamed of a great concert they gave in a bar. I also dreamed of an incredibly Pink Floyd live... That was when I was younger. As a former rock journalist I´ve seen so many concerts that now I love to stay home at night! But the one that thrilled me the most was the Psychedelich Furs checking sound before a concert for TV. They played for near half and a hour, they were feeling really good... and there I was, with them and two or three more people... checking sound! That night they were great, but the sound check was another thing. I´ve seen maybe six or eight times Lou Reed and he never deceived me. And I remember Violent Femmes live in a club, in Paris... one of the most exciting concerts! I was at the first Rolling Stones gig in Madrid, they performed under a summer storm and that was real magic! They still are magic on stage... XXX
Speaking of: I recently saw The Psychedelic Furs at The Costa Mesa Pacific Amphitheatre and I almost felt bad for them since their glory days are obviously long gone... didn't even stay for the encore.
