Carl Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 The Human Beinz song originally by the Isley Brothers - "Nobody But Me" is being used in a great Nike commercial. But I know it appeared in at least one other commercial a long time ago, maybe in the '80s. Anyone know what that was? I remember the lyrics were changed to reflect whatever they were selling: something like "Nobody cooks fish like we do. Nobody makes meat loaf like we do." But I don't think it was food.
edna Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 I found those from 2005 but they don't say what you say... check them anyways... http://www.splendad.com/ads/show/886-Capital-One-Someplace-Warm-No http://www.splendad.com/ads/show/885-Capital-One-First-Day
bazooka Posted February 8, 2011 Report Posted February 8, 2011 From the Songfacts Comments: This was used in a (Canon?) copier commercial in the 1980s in which, among other things, an elephant sits on a rival brand. - [smaller]Ekristheh, Halath, United States[/smaller]
Jk Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 About five years ago, Idaho Potato's spokespud, Spuddy Buddy, used to sing it as "Nobody makes a great french fry, like I do", etc. It was pretty cute. He even had back-up singers who were still stuck in the ground. I can't believe it's not on YouTube yet.
Carl Posted February 9, 2011 Author Report Posted February 9, 2011 A potato singing this one - that sounds like YouTube gold. Thanks for the help guys.
