If my memory serves me well, a man asked a question and then a short portion of a song was played as the answer. Then another question was asked, and a short portion of another song was played as the answer. And on, and on. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks!! It was like he was conducting an interview (with the President??) and then they'd play a portion of a song... If I could just remember one of the questions, it would be a matter of a Google search... The two you probably remember were the ones that hit the Top 40: "Energy Crisis '74" - Dickie Goodman (1974) "Mr. Jaws" - Dickie Goodman (1975) Here's a few more from the '70s that didn't make the Top 40: "Watergrate" - Dickie Goodman "Kong" - Dickie Goodman And one from the early '80s that didn't make the Top 40: "Mr. President" - Dickie Goodman He and his partner Bill Buchanan originated the novelty "break-in" recordings featuring bits of the original versions of Top 40 hits interwoven throughout the recording.
