Here's the thing with Punk: It's terrible by design. You're not supposed to play well, just with passion and rage against authority.

Thankfully, Green Day has made it safe for bands that come out of the Punk scene to make music lots of people will like, although there's always a backlash from the faithful.

Tom Gabel fronts the band Against Me!, who are currently getting some play with "I Was A Teenage Anarchist." He's a great songwriter and a fantastic singer, and he let loose in Dan's interview. I think it's a good sign when the subject challenges any assumptions in a question and sets us straight.
