Carl
Too much of Millie Jackson's press deals with her Toilet Picture. The bigger story is her unique combination of remarkable talent, innovation and reckless disregard for anything resembling authority. She was very close to pulling a Tina Turner crossover in the '80s - her duet with Elton John almost did the trick - but she has remained an R&B star mostly unknown to white audiences. This is one of those hidden gem interviews where we were treated to a series of fascinating stories that piece together a tantalizing career. If you really believe that everything has already been done, you haven't heard Millie. This is a story about how doing it your way can be the best way, and the resolve it takes to pull it off. Carl
A truck fell on Millie yesterday, but she's OK. You'll get a glimpse at her honesty when the reporter asks her if she was scared: http://www.wreg.com/news/wreg-weather-flips-truck-on-suv-story,0,6925456.story
