bazooka
Humble Pie is absolutely fantastic super-charged boogie-blastin' Rock & Roll, but FUNK
MuzikTyme
I'll check that..Bazooka. What is funk, anyway? Black persons playing completely well or white people messing it all up? True to my nature and yours, bazooka... don't Change Horses (in the middle of a street) But I see your point. Is there a "funk" song sang by caucasion expression? To me, this song is an exception! bazooka
What is funk, anyway? I've never been much interested in pigeon-holing any music, but here's a couple broad definitions. What It Is and Probably More Than You Wanted To Know I like to think I intuitively know Funk when I hear it. AWB's grooves definitely qualify, and they offer clear-cut proof that at least some Caucasians are capable of Funkifizin'. (I think you can see that Humble Pie's superlativeness is undeniable, but is just from a different realm.)

bazooka
She's Looking Good - Rodger Collins . . Wilson Pickett covered it, but this is the original definitive version .. and maybe just a regional hit. Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is - Rose Royce of Car Wash fame. Batman
I'm on a big Brothers Johnson kick right now. One of them played bass on MJ's "Off the Wall" album, and their four best albums were produced by Quincy Jones. Reccomended to fans of "Off the Wall," late 70s Isley Brothers, early Prince, and good times in general. Just great, slick, sunshiney funk I'll Be Good To You Strawberry Letter 23 Tomorrow Celebrations

Carl
Bim Sala Bim - Fantastic Soul Inventions [smaller]AKA [/smaller] Hudson County. I just discovered this -- apparently a rare single released around 1975 by a group from Italy (?). We tracked down a member of Hudson County to find out about this delightful Funk nugget. Try to guess where the title came from before you read this. Bim Sala Bim Songfacts

MuzikTyme
Tip Of My Tongue - The Tubes I liked that song a lot. I didn't think that the Tubes were capable. But do you think they are funk-n-soul?

MuzikTyme
Real Mother for Ya! ~ Johnny (guitar) Watson. Now, 'zOOka, I'm not sure if the above is considered funk but I can be certain that the above is a catalyst of funk soon to be invented. And...I love the three purple musical characters. How do you do that? ♫♫♫ Maybe one day you'll show me.
