Steel2Velvet
The orange sky reddens the outside of a stoic apartment building of stone and mortar. Inside, a smallish woman of graceful form dances slow flamenco to a Portuguese "fado" song. The sun setting on another day gives her pause - as it does everyday - to reflect on "what might have been?" and "where would I be if only ..." These questions, those daily dances. are all here in: Edna's Personal Top Ten Dame Fuego - Sandro Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush Quel mal Y a t'il à ça? - Françoise Hardy The Stranger - Cohen Roberto Carlos - Namoradinha de um amigo meu. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pF-bzqiMrsQ&feature=related Mutante - Rita Lee http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBHcVFHmAKQ Moscow Nights - Vladimir Troshin Tous les Oiseaux, tous les bateaux, tous les soleils - Michel Polnareff "Tous les Oiseaux, tous les bateaux, tous les soleils" - Michel Polnareff Love me, please love me - Polnareff Switchblade - Jefferson Starship http://www.goear.com/listen/3b31c34/switchblade-jefferson-starship Sketches of China - Slick, Kantner and Freiberg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Etp9y7grC28 Comment Te Dire Adieu - Françoise Hardy Ça n'arrive qu'aux autres - Polna http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x6IbHQAlnc L'Ivrogne - Jacques Brel Le Tourbillon - Jeanne Moreau She - Elvis Costello http://www.goear.com/listen/811f601/she-elvis-costello I'd Much rather Be With The Boys - Rolling Stones Un muchacho como yo - Palito Ortega Mi alma lloró - Johnny Tedesco http://www.goear.com/listen/feb8d52/y-mi-alma-llor%C3%B3-johnny-tedesco- Eaglet - Soviet Army Choirus Boy - Ian Hunter May I? - Kevin Ayers Chanson de l'Auvergnat - Brassens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RqLfPH68FM No More Heroes - The Stranglers It's Cold Outside - The Choir http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBy8hNuCB6c Angelica - Scott Walker Symphony #3 - Brahms Srl] Symphony #3 - Brahms Shine A light - Stones http://www.youtube.comwatchv=UPbozLRU3so&feature=related Effeuille-moi le coeur - Françoise Hardy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-S_H02-aACY What I Like About You - The Romantics You Can't Be Too Strong - Graham Parker All About You - The Rolling Stones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RwPSoOuD2ms The Long and Winding Road - The Beatles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6ZegjrEIGQ Stumblin' In - Suzie Quatro Winter - Stones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOypYEvZ9Q0 Back to Black - Amy Winehouse http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1evzhSast8 Cry Me A River - Julie London http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByUOFV5TusE Sway -Stones http://www.goear.com/listen/9295b47/sway-the-rolling-stones Rent - Pet Shop Boys This Guy's In Love With You - Herp Albert Dance With Me - Adam Green http://www..youtube.com/watch?v=5325RtmKpEQ There Is A War - Leonard Cohen Alone Again Or - Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yVBMUXr4xo&feature=related Song Sung Blue - Neil Diamond Chopin- Etude in E Major Chopin- Etude in E Major (Tristesse) - Rubinstein Winter - Stones http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOypYEvZ9Q0 Trois Petites Notes de Musique - Juliette Gréco http://www.goear.com/listen/a2dc38b/TROIS-PETITES-NOTES-DE-MUSIQUE- La Foule - Edith Piaf Goodbye Cruel World - James Darren "Goodbye Cruel World" - James darren Quand t'es dans le désert - J-P Capdevielle Though you will have to pick out individual songs to play, it is a small task to ask from one so devoted to Songfacts as our dear Edna. Ombre Vivante
01. Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush 02. Comment Te Dire Adieu - Françoise Hardy 03. Tous Les Bateaux...Tous Les Oiseaux - Michel Polnareff (I have to admit I got a little choked up listening to this one... great tune... just don't play it when you've had a coupla glasses of wine) 04. Mutante - Rita Lee 05. Namoradinha de um amigo meu - Roberto Carlos 06. Symphony #3 - Brahms 07. Alone Again Or - Love (The Damned's version woulda also made my top ten) 08. Stumblin' In - Suzie Quatro 09. The Stranger - Leonard Cohen 10. Rent- Pet Shop Boys I can't believe I just eliminated The Stranglers, Chopin, Herb Alpert, Elvis Costello, Julie London, and Jeanne Moreau! This is all top-shelf stuff. Of all the lists I've listened to, I think this is the one with the most songs I liked on the same consistent level. Initially, I was gonna pick the stuff I woulda included on my list, but after giving the other songs a chance, I had to start eliminating my first picks. The ones I kept were Kate Bush, Roberto Carlos, and Pet Shop Boys (I HAVE to keep those no matter how much better the other choices were)
