BlueAngel
I anticipated another top 20, and you should be thankful I was able to narrow it down that far. 1. Sour Times - Portishead 2. 007 (Shanty Town) - Desmond Dekker (I was actually going to nominate this one or "Rude Boy Train" in the Top Ten last week, but I totally forgot.) 3. Rottweillers - Nerve Rack 4. Psyche - Killing Joke 5. Babylon's Burning - The Ruts (from one of my all-time favourite, and, IMO, best debut albums) 6. Embrace - Low 7. Ampersand - Amanda Palmer 8. Steel2Velvet
The concert over, dust has settled, blood spatters drying in the daylight. A few bodies lying in the corners of the room - forms of those sleeping off the body slams and extra-special cocktails from the night before. As we listen to the busy hands of the roadies tearing down the set and packing up the instruments, we are reminded just how much the envelope has been pushed by: blind-fitter's Personal Top Ten 1. Sour Times - Portishead 88 2. C'mon Let's Go - Girlschool 63 3. 007 (Shanty Town) - Desmond Dekker 59 4. I Envy The Wind - Lucinda Williams 51 5. Babylon's Burning - The Ruts 49 6. pinkstones
This was an interesting list, to say the least. Not a single song or artist was one I've heard of, so coming up with 10 songs I liked enough to say were the 10 best out of the 50 was extremely hard. Normally I don't vote as late as I did, but it took me a long time. I do hope that b-f finds the list acceptable to him.
Ombre Vivante
01. Yes Sir, I Can Boogie - Baccara (I think Fitter picked this so I could have something to vote for) 02. Nag Nag Nag - Cabaret Voltaire (an all-time favourite of mine. I don't care if there are better tracks on this list. They have to be bumped to make room for the Cabs ) 03. Psyche - Killing Joke 04. Babylon's Burning - The Ruts (this one packs energy... I liked it as soon as I heard it) 05. I'm An Upstart - Angelic Upstarts 06. Male Model - TheUndertones 07. In Spite Of These Times - The Close Lobsters (love that upbeat Alterno sound) 08. In Shreds - The Chameleons 09. My Favourite Dress - The Wedding Present (classic New Wave) 10. Spacer - Sheila And B. Devotion (I hadn't heard this in almost 20 years! Hahahahah. I love this tune! I'm buyin' it, that's all there is to it).

MindCrime
The only thing you would've changed BA is putting Killing Joke at #9.

Levis
Aw I'm bummed about the lack of love for the Shamen and L'Aigle Noire. Looks like some good listening, though
edna
Cool list, BF!... I would have loved to see The Chameleons or Baccara... and I didn't vote for Aigle Noir as it was already on the previous PTT but I think I must have been wrong and should have voted for it... Good for the Close Lobsters, which I didn't vote for as there was many songs I had to leave out... Glad The Ruts or Girlschool made it!!
Steel2Velvet
Aw I'm bummed about the lack of love for the Shamen and L'Aigle Noire. Looks like some good listening, though Those tunes, along with many other "no vote specials" will have there week to shine. In one month, after the normal PTTs are complete, we will then have two more TTs; one will feature all the songs that got no love and then the final "Best of the Best" ultimate TT; based upon consensus will of the participants. So keep those chads hanging.

And btw, I don't think I've ever had gruelling sex. I've been bored a time or two (before Mr. Peaches, of course), but gruelling was never an issue. Love you! blind-fitter
I do hope that b-f finds the list acceptable to him. Oh, I do, I do. I'd like to say a big to you and everyone else who took the time and trouble to listen to my selections and cast your votes. I appreciate that it's always a lot more difficult and time-consuming to do so when there is a high proportion of obscure and unfamiliar material. Many of you really surprised me (pleasantly) with your unexpected choices, and I have been chuffed to witness the relative "success" of certain songs for which I hadn't anticipated a lot of public support. If anybody encountered anything that piqued his/her interest, and would like to discuss any artists/songs at greater length, I will be delighted to share my insight / anecdotes / recommendations, etc. Just give me a call.
