chutzpah Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 No,You raised a good point...I could think of lots of "soundtracks" Especially in the 70's Song Remains The Same-Led Zepplin Tommy-The Who and debating is good here...it always equals out
RonJonSurfer Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 What a debate I started! Really, it doesn't matter to me much if it is nominated or not. I owned it as a child and liked it, but it's not like I am emotionally attached to it. I was merely asking if it was eligible, and seeing that it's not, it's OK. I will rescind that nomination and only have "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" as a nom. There, debate over. Jenny, Everybody has seen Jersey Shore and knows the kind of trouble you Jersey Girls can stir up.
skybluesky Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Tommy-The Who Technically Tommy is not a soundtrack, but a concept album released in 1969, six years before the film was released in 1975.

edna Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 Are you sure? What if it would be allowed? Yes, are you sure? ...or you can nominate any other great album...
Jenny Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Yes, I'm sure. I was a kid in the '70's and didn't own too many albums. GYBR is one that I came to know as an adult and has some songs I truly love on there. Besides, there are lots of good choices already!
Jenny Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Actually, I do have another nomination. I did a little homework and found this classic album that hasn't been nominated yet: Breakfast in America - Supertramp (1979) Track listing Side One "Gone Hollywood" – 5:20 "The Logical Song" – 4:10 "Goodbye Stranger" – 5:50 "Breakfast in America" – 2:38 "Oh Darling" – 3:58 Side Two "Take the Long Way Home" – 5:08 "Lord Is It Mine" – 4:09 "Just Another Nervous Wreck" – 4:26 "Casual Conversations" – 2:58 "Child of Vision" – 7:25
Farin Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 alright so anyone else wanting to jump in (aka 'last chance')
skybluesky Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Breakfast in America - Supertramp (1979) Excellent compromise and excellent album
Viaene Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 I have a nomination left, but I already have my top ten and I don't think any 70's album can change that,so I'll stick with one.
Farin Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 but what about the others who are JUST waiting for exactly THE album that you were going to nominate? (ie: the more nominations, the better... period!)
chutzpah Posted June 17, 2010 Report Posted June 17, 2010 Use the nomination, Dude. Yeah...the more the better...and there are lots of good ones already...this is going to be a really tough pick...and I'll probably dump one of my own...
MindCrime Posted June 18, 2010 Report Posted June 18, 2010 I almost nominated Disco Duck by Rick Dees and his Cast of Idiots, just because there are so many good ones and I didn't wanna make it harder.
