RIP Dixie Carter

Recommended Posts

Julia Sugarbaker taught a generation of girls to be assertive and to speak their minds. My favorite Julia/DW moment ever is when Julia defends Suzanne's beauty pageant baton twirling routine and surmises with "AND THAT WAS THE NIGHT THE LIGHTS WENT OUT IN GEORGIA!" I am saddened by this loss and will miss her talent.

jeez... this one took me by surprise. I never thought of her as aging. She seemed to just stay the same age forever. I saw her in a show recently, I think it was SVU or something. She was a hard-core attorney, and she was good.

I always thought she and her husband Hal Holbrook made such a classy couple. She was one hell of an actress and seemed to be a great lady. RIP Miss Carter.

Dixie Carter was absolutely brilliant as Julia Sugarbaker. Although there were so many wonderful episodes from which to choose, my favourite is "Reservations For Eight" from season two. In this episode, the four women and their respective boyfriends end up snowbound in a mountain cabin. The eight of them end up in a battle of the sexes for the ages.

Rest In Peace Dixie!
