Steel2Velvet
Intro creation break for me, because she has eloquently said it all. Pinkstones' Personal Top Ten Love Songs of the 70s You know them, you love them....some of you maybe danced to them at prom or homecoming or had your first kiss to them. Maybe they were played at your wedding, even after the 70s were over. I was watching an infomercial for a Time Life collection of these songs and thought.....damn! That would make a great new PTT! Much like my last list, there's only one song per artist listed, and as a twist, no super rock groups this time. I thought that while the last Personal Top 10 I had ended up with a solid final tally, it wasn't 100% representative of my tastes. Part of that was what I felt were people voting for the singer, not the song. Here, I opted to go with a themed list so that there was less temptation on my part to end up with a Greatest Hits package. Not that there's anything wrong with that, just that I thought it was time to do something different for my second go-around. There are a few well-known rock artists here (Chicago, Clapton, The Hollies), but it's a small percentage of my overall group of artists. One of the songs is from 1980, because I couldn't bear to leave it out, and I've labeled it in bold. I hope some of these songs bring back warm memories for some of you. The Grooveshark playlist allows you to listen to them all at once, rather than linking to individual tracks. Enjoy! Grooveshark -- Let's Get It On! MindCrime
No Pink or Stones? I don't listen to this style of love music and only know a few songs on this list, I'll have to listen to a few more before deciding. Steel2Velvet
But it's from only one era. That is why she mentioned there is a theme to her selections, Kenne, "Songs From The 70's." I like the theme idea for a PTT.
pinkstones
But it's from only one era. It's a themed list -- Love Songs of the 70s. There were different styles of music in the 70s and I tried to cover them all, while staying within my theme. So there's some disco, some rock, some pop, a couple country I think....a little bit of everything. I could have done this themed list with any decade, really. skybluesky
I've been toying with the idea of doing that if we have a third go 'round, but with a different era and theme.
