Hey, Lea. You ought to be careful, y'know. My old mucker, johnnyguitar, was banned following a nipple controversy. :P

That was just the one nipple - almost obscured by bath-bubbles, as I recall- whereas yours are on public display...

Well, not yours - I assume yours aren't on public display, as we speak :o  - the ones belonging to the album-cover model, of course.

Anyway, just wanted to point out that, historically, the authorities have been known to take a dim view of this sort of thing. And I would hate for you to suffer the same fate as johnnyg. :(

Wow, I never knew that about Johnny. He was a cool guy too. I'm sure he's still cool at whatever he's doing

That picture will also be deleted from Photobucket as soon as the mods there get to it. I've had stuff that was no where near as close get removed for violating their Code of Conduct.

Yes, he's still cool .... he's isn't dead, or even still banned. :shades:

As far as this mod & that picture go, this is a thread about albums, the album cover is art, and is posted in that context. It is also one of the more historically famous covers, btw. It's fine.

Hey, I certainly wasn't suggesting there was any need for banning Lea, or even deleting "the offending item". If we have now moved collectively into an enlightened era of nipple-friendliness, I consider that to be good news!

I understand that the reason johnnyguitar was banned (for a week or two) was more that he became irritable about the removal of his nipple and challenged American reasoning on the Nipple Issue, may even have lost his cool and uttered something uncouth, (in private). However, I do believe this unfortunate confrontation with the authorities may have been the "beginning of the end" of johnnyg's tenure as a SongFactor. I still miss him. :(

I could always take it into my paint program and put a shirt on her :D

Believe it or not, I did wonder if it would be ok but then I reasoned it like Lucky did.

It's album art and very well known at that. If anyone really does find it offensive I would be happy to remove it (or a mod can) if photo bucket doesn't do it first.

It's only a matter of time before Photobucket deletes it. They don't allow nudity of any kind and they go through everybody's folders.

I made a censored version

Yikes, that's like covering David with a fig leaf. :P I dunno if photobucket will delete it, let's just wait and see. I don't think they would delete a photo of David or The Venus De Milo. Art is art. :P

b-f, I know you weren't suggesting any such thing. And you are correct, I think jg's troubles were more with his reaction, rather than his original picture. And I had nothing to do with it anyhoo. Different time and situation.

I luf you Shawna. I didn't wanna say that but it truly offends me

The album cover I put up would also offend me if I did didn't understand the concept of it. But I felt I couldn't really say much about the add pic after putting up an album cover pic of a young girl with her boobies showing

What to do, what to do

If people are offend by that album cover, I'd much appreciate if a mod would remove it.

I agree with Lucky that the album cover is appropriate considering the theme of the thread, and the familiarity and historical significance of the album cover (and if you think nudity cannot be art, I suggest you never visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art or any other world-class art museum). However, MC's ad has nothing to do with this thread and has no purpose other than to show how vulgar it is.

As for my noms, I'll go with:

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band-Beatles (I really didn't want to overnominate the Beatles, but it would be a crime to leave it out)

and

Hair-Broadway Soundtrack

I got carried away with the topic of deletion of pictures by moderators, and I forgot which thread I was in when I posted that.

If a mod could edit out that picture or delete the entire post all together I would appreciate it. It really is off-topic with the purpose of this thread.
