Carl
Here's one of those guys you haven't heard of, but is a fascinating story. Oliver is the son of Jerry Leiber - the guy who wrote "Hound Dog" with Mike Stoller. Music is in his blood, but he insisted on doing it with no help from his famous father. In the late '80s, we find Oliver in Minnesota, where he's getting some of Prince's pixie dust. One thing leads to another, and he ends up working with Paula Abdul, who at the time was known for her work choreographing videos. So Oliver gets a very fragile Paula for her second ever recording session, and he makes it work. Oliver was great about explaining how they crafted Paula's sound, and what it was like working with her. He also opened up about his dad, which anyone who didn't see things the same way as their father will appreciate. Carl
Thanks Edna. I liked that Oliver doesn't even have a Wikipedia entry, so I felt like we were covering some new ground. And anyone who has had issues with their father can relate to his story.
