janetlee1964
I've been listening to "The Boxer" by Simon & Garfunkel. For about the last minute or so, they repeat "Lie-la-lie" many times. I was trying to think of other songs that do this. I thought of "Hey Jude", "Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'" by Journey and then looked up "The Boxer" here on Songfacts and saw that "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Sittin' On The Dock fo The Bay" were mentioned. Can you think of any other songs that fill space by repeating a phrase or such over and over again? I'd love to hear them! Thanks! JL64 PS-I hope I put this in the correct section! Farin
Peaches & Cream ~ Beck Keep your lamplight trimmed and burning... Brad_M
The Police did it all the time. Check out the songs: Can't Stand Losing You De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da Don't Stand So Close To Me Every Breath You Take Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic King Of Pain Message In A Bottle Roxanne Walking On The Moon There prolly is a few or many more by them. I don't have time to look. I just listed the ones that I remember. Also, Sting did it solo with: "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free" I'm sure he has more solo songs that he does it on too. I always thought Meat Loaf was the worst repeater on the planet but I think he's met his match with Sting and The Police.

I'm picking up good vibrations she's giving me excitations..." you get the picture. Also: "Beach Baby" by 1st Class, the end is a monotonous repetition of "beach baby beach baby beach baby beach baby" eleventy billion times.
