Congratulations to everyone who has participated in Golden Oldies Top 40, where we vote on the greatest hits from 1950 to 1963. You've made it through the preliminary round of 50 countdowns voting songs up and down the charts. :) Now it's time to take another look at the songs we've voted the highest and pick our favorites of the favorites; our Ultimate Golden Oldies Top 40.

For each of the next 4 weeks, I will be giving a list of 40 songs, compiled from the 120 highest ranking songs on the weekly charts. All Songfactors (whether or not you have voted in a past GO-40) will have the opportunity to vote for your 10 favorites, just as in the weekly Top 10's and Ultimate Top 10's. Rank your favorites from 1 to 10, with #1 getting 10 points and #10 getting 1 point.

The top 10 songs each week will qualify for our Ultimate Top 40. Each song will be listed alphabetically in the 1st 3 Ultimate votes; then in week 4, it will be a 2nd chance for the 40 highest-charting songs that did not make it through phase 1 to qualify as "wild card entries".

Ready? Here we go!

I really, really like this list. All of the nominations were great, but the final list is near perfect. Even the number of Elvis songs is probably correct. I can see this whole thing is just going to get ridiculously difficult. ;)
