Shawna
the absolute ONLY movie I've seen that's nominated is "Inglorious Basterds." And I hated that movie.
TheLizard
I'd just like to point out that it's an absolute sin that Duncan Jones and Sam Rockwell weren't nominated for Moon. Best movie of the year. If you haven't seen it, move it to the top of your Netflix queue, now. 500 Days of Summer is another good one that got snubbed, but not including Moon is criminal. Steel2Velvet
Phil and Mike - 8 out of 8. Wow! Good job! Prior to last night, the only two movies I had seen from all the nominees were Invictus and Julie And Julia. As the oscars seems to always do, last night I was wooed to see more of the nominees. Jenny
Ah well, didn't do so well, but it doesn't matter, because I'm just happy that James Cameron didn't win. I have seen a lot of his films and like them, but for some reason, the man just rubs me the wrong way.
TheLizard
I can't stand him. The look of anger on his face when Kathryn Bigelow won both best director and best picture was extremely gratifying. I will admit Avatar was a pretty cool experience, but I have seen five of the ten nominees and I'd rank it at the bottom of the five. The Hurt Locker is currently sitting on my desk waiting to be watched, I guess I should get to that.
MindCrime
I was thinking of renting it myself to see what all the fuss is about. I did that with Slumdog Millionaire last year and fell in love with the movie.
Jenny
I have only seen 2 of the 10 best picture nominees (Up and District 9), but I would like to see Precious, Inglorious Basterds and now, The Hurt Locker as well. Avatar does not interest me in the least. When I said that at the lunch table, I got looks like I grew another head, but hey, different strokes for different folks. Jenny
If she asked me to, I would. She's only 6, and she knows what the movie is, but she hasn't asked me to take her. She doesn't really ask to go to movies, or for much of anything. I've got a great kid!
