cyberjudge
All members of Songfacts are most welcome to vote and help create next week's Top 40. Don't be shy. It may look a little complicated, but it's not really. You don't have to be an 'oldie' - just someone who appreciates this kind of music. ................................................. Eligibility of songs: * U.S. Charted Pop AND R&B Singles of the 1950s+ era, but not after 1963. * No Album Only Tracks or Uncharted B Sides. * U.S. Chart Links may be found for on Songfacts' Main Index page, where there are alphabetical links to many songs, either by Title or Artist. If your songs aren't there, you could use Google/Wikipedia - or PT Cyberjudge if in doubt. .................................................. IT'S EASY Allot your points in 3 sections: PART A: 5 Existing songs in Top 40 #40 (below) you'd like to advance: (Plus) +5, +4, +3, +2, +1. PART B: 5 Existing songs in Top 40 #40 (below) you don't really care for, or you think could make way for other New songs.: (Minus) -5, -4, -3, -2, -1. PART C: 5 New Songs you'd like to see in the next Top 40: (Plus) *5, +4, +3, +2, +1. Please note that these may be duplicated on a number of Lists - you can go along with others to support songs you like. It's best to do that if you vote later. VOTING IS NOW OPEN ! DJghr1
Being that I'm the "new guy" here, I was just wondering on the rules in voting. What songs are eligible? Post 1950 or post Elvis (1956)? I enjoy everything from Les Paul & Mary Ford, Four Aces and Eddie Fisher of the early 50's to Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley and Brook Benton of the late 50's. I was just wondering where the starting point was. I collect music and charts so I know what was popular and when. If in doubt go to Google Books and type in either an artist/song or even something like "1953 Billboard" (or any other year/month combination with the word Billboard) and you can skim through back issues of Billboard Magazine. Thanks

MindCrime
Great to see Quarter To Three getting so much support. It's one of my favorite songs. I've gotten it in here before, but if it's up for reconsideration, then I might vote again to support it this week. It was even considered as a candidate for my PT10, but quickly dropped out in the elimination stage.

pinkstones
Maybe you need to institute some new rules, where for a couple weeks songs are penalized double and that will get them out of the charts faster.
