pinkstones
What do you do when you don't like an album/band but can appreciate its influence? Personally, if I don't like the song/album/band, I don't vote for it. I would be potentially taking a vote away from something I do like.

Levis
I'm thinking, as much as I love it and think it's perfectly symbolic of the decade, I might replace Memory Tapes with Flaming Lips. What sez the world?
blind-fitter
I hate it when people rank music in terms of its supposed "importance". If that's the way we're going, I don't think I'll bother.

If that's the way we're going, I don't think I'll bother. Just because that's how someone else wants to rank their list, doesn't mean that's how everyone is going to do it. You can rank your 10 albums by whatever quantifiers you want.

Lucky
I hate it when people rank music in terms of its supposed "importance". If that's the way we're going, I don't think I'll bother. Oh please don't say that! You use whatever criterea you want. If we go by importance, I can't even participate, I don't hace a clue. My nominations may very well have zero importance, but they both show that cetain really great artists remain a really great artist .... even 30 years later. How many of those nominated will be able to say that?? please don't stop this thing without me, i haven't voted yet! ok. . Anyone have anything else? Cause I'm going to open voting in maybe an hour or so .... Edited November 28, 2009 by Guest

Lucky
SCRATCH THAT: JUST DISCOVERED IT WAS FIRST RELEASED IN 1999. I just added it to the list. Ok, I'm going to wait for a bit, everyone seems to be rushing a last minute choice in ... BlueAngel, I can't give you a third. Whatcha do is go round someone up that hasn't nominated & get them to submit yours. I'm also wondering if MC had something else he wanted to put up, so we'll wait until this afternoon or evening so to open the voting. Sound ok? MindCrime
1. Missundaztood - P!nk (soundtrack of my recent years) 2. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below - Outkast (greatest hip hop album I've ever listened to) 3. Stadium Arcadium - Red Hot Chili Peppers (one of the best comeback albums I've heard) 4. Mudcrutch - Mudcrutch (my favorite artist returns to his roots - debut album by a band formed in the 60's) 5. Demon Days - Gorillaz (helped revive my eccentric musical tastes in the mid decade and introduced me to new formats of blended material) 6. Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand (this album helped redefine alternative music in an improved form) 7. Elephant - The White Stripes 8. Warrior's Code, The - Dropkick Murphys 9. Back To Black - Amy Winehouse 10. Good News for People Who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse Very hard, as I liked most of the nominations.

Raising Sand - Robert Plant & Alison Krauss 5. Speakerboxxx/The Love Below - Outkast 6. Demon Days - Gorillaz 7. Elephant - The White Stripes 8. Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand 9. Hot Fuss - The Killers 10. Green Album, The - Weezer The top 5 was easy for me, the last 5 not so much. So many of these albums I've never heard, much less even heard of the artists. So I basically just put in 5 artists' albums I've at least heard of.
