MuzikTyme
Yes, folks, it's that time of year again, when the ghouls feast on fools and black cats scurry from vampire bats! I was recently watching a program that stated the ten "SCARIEST" moments in film of all time. Scary is a loosely defined word, IMO. Scary can be simply a tone of voice or a "look." My particular favourite was when Sigur, with no weapon, only a coin, could chill even the hardest. Feel free to add your favourite scene to this Halloween Top Ten. Thanks!... Here's one of mine . . . 10. Call It...(no Country for Old Men) 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1.

TheLizard
Other moments, in no particular order: The Fly: Jeff Goldblum falls apart Seven: Sloth Full Metal Jacket: "I am... in a world.. of s**t." The Evil Dead: Tree rape The Wicker Man: The ending The Shining: All of it Suspiria: Murder in the hotel (Prettiest death ever) Prince of Darkness: Alice Cooper kills a dude with half a bike (More awesome than scary, really) The Sixth Sense: Creepy vomiting little girl ghost A Nightmare On Elm Street: Tina is dragged up the walls and cut open Wait Until Dark: THAT scene. Won't spoil it, but if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about. Leave Audrey Hepburn alone! Psycho: Meeting mother The Exorcist: All of it A Clockwork Orange: Singing In the Rain

RyanTurtle
The chestburster scene in Alien scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
Ombre Vivante
Ahhh right. That crappy remake. Uh, David Cronenberg is one of the best contemporary directors. His work is recognised throughout the world, esp. the kinds of bioweapon props and sfx he uses in several of his movies. He is unmatched in the movie game

RockyRaccoon
It's still not as good as the original. Jeff Goldblum is no Vincent Price. Though I will give it credit for having Howard Shore write the music
Ombre Vivante
David Cronenberg has a tendency of using less-than-famous actors (mostly Canadian), but, I digress, I tend to enjoy films for more than who starred in it. The totality of David Cronenberg's film: the score, the sets/mise-en-scene and visually-stunning props and FX (seriously, that weird transporter looks like something out of Alien/H.R. Giger), the cinematography and editing, etc. I'm not panning the original movie, but the new version made a classic seem like new. This is a rare and difficult feat
Steel2Velvet
Play Misty For Me - when we think Jessica Walters' character has been rendered harmless .... but she's not. The last 5 seconds of the original Carrie.
skybluesky
one of the scariest moments I've ever seen is Halloween, when Laurie Strode thinks she's incapacitated Michael Myers, and he slowly begins to rise. I've seen it hundreds of times and I still scream every time.
remmy8788
The all time scariest movie for me is the wrong turn. It is so scary that i can't sleep the whole night. How they cut the flesh and eat the humans is so frightful for me.
