OLD 55
Thanks Ian, Ron and Lars (you Animal, you !) Sixteen people voted this week - a new record. That's great. ................................................. Now we've all voted, here's a few thoughts on the Chart from me. I don't think there'll be a great deal of movement in the Top 40 this week. We haven't collectively taken a liking to many of the recent (2/3 weeks) songs. Last week we saw a lot of new entries. That always reduces the vote for the 'middle of the Chart' songs. Some got in with very low points, which is unusual. This week's Newies will have earnt their spots. The Top Ten is pretty solid at the moment, although there'll be one new one this week (I believe). There's a fair gap to the rest ! I'm always inclined to give the newer songs a chance - even if I don't like them. I'd rather vote down something that's 'had its day'. Like me. pinkstones
Great to see Blue On Blue and Too Young make the chart. Got to move them up to Top 10 now! Chain Gang and Spanish Harlem are still holding steady at #'s 1 and 2 respectively. Overall nice chart this week.

OLD 55
Great work to get it done so early Lars. Thank you. Take Good Care Of My Baby was the unlucky 'Bubbler' this week. It missed out by one point. It's a re-nomination, but only charted moderately for 4 weeks last time in. I'd support it, whereas I won't support re-nominated songs that have already done well before ! Unless it's an artist's death, birth anniversary, etc.
edna
A very good list of very good songs... Yet I won't stop till I see there my Sedaka or Yuro or Brubeck or so...
OLD 55
Why not try a different Neil Sedaka song my Dear Breaking Up Is Hard To Do already made it to #10, even though it was only in for 9 weeks. I'd vote for any well known songs of his !
edna
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do already made it to #10, even though it was only in for 9 weeks. I'd vote for any well known songs of his ! Lucky
Deep Purple made it in! I really wanted that song in there .... and Poor Little Fool as well. I didn't think that last week could be equaled, but it has been. I'm terribly happy with this Top 40.
