MuzikTyme
It's been stated by more than one music critic that the best "live "fake" was by Rare Earth's..." Get Ready Now, most music entusiasist will agree that the second "fake" live presentaion would be: Peter Frampton's : Comes Alive! Between both supposedly "live" presentations? Both were studio fakes. Not to say either song wasn't the best caliber...EVER!

pinkstones
That doesn't sound like a live recording.

pinkstones
What was your point? The song isn't live, faked or not. I'm confused as to why you suggested it.
MuzikTyme
Any...ANY song can sound live! Wouldn't you agree? But you're right, Fifth Dimension wasn't a good example even though its transition mimics a live performance.
berjo1429030949
I'm not sure of the OP intention. Are you asking for faux pas 'live' studio tracks with possible edits of an audience or actual live recordings but edited (either subtlety or in mass amounts) in studio? For the latter, the famous live version of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird" - Allen didn't like the 'live' guitar solo so he taped almost 30 takes just to get it right. For the former, the Crackers (an old Canadian band) did a track called "Crackers in Concert" where it sounded just like it was recorded in a club. "Glamour Boy" by the Guess Who has an audience bit inserted mid-way through the track. The Rolling Stones' "Get Yer Ya's Ya's Out" and especially KISS' "Alive!" are notorious for studio overdubs.
