MindCrime Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 (edited) "Zoot Suit" is what I found in my research. edit: in reply to seeker Edited September 14, 2009 by Guest
The Seeker Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Yes I know ^ ^ Alright... makes sense.
The Seeker Posted September 14, 2009 Report Posted September 14, 2009 Ok, my first nomination: Hand In Glove -- The Smiths (1983)
phil Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Try A Little Tenderness - Three Dog Night Give Peace a Chance - John Lennon
bluesboy Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 1. Question 67 & 68 - Chicago (July '69) What an opening to a great body of work. Only Blood, Sweat & Tears and later Tower of Power were on the same plateau.
Levis Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Does Fin want to fight me over who gets to nominate Supersonic?
The Seeker Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 I do. Whoever most accurately guesses the number of F-words used in any given Oasis interview wins.
Levis Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 I could take Blur or Suede. I might take Blur or Suede.
Levis Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Oh, Air's first single was Sexy Boy.
Shawna Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 how is it handled if a band's been in business for a couple of albums, and then gets new members that make it a new band, but it's still the same band name... is it considered a debut with the new band members?
Farin Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) my first reaction would be to say that it's still the same band... otherwise I could almost nominate any album of Queens of the Stone Age (or the first single from it), because they only have one really permanent member Edited September 15, 2009 by Guest

chutzpah Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 OK...Sucks to be human and make mistakes huh?
Farin Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 don't worry about it and take your time to think of some noms, we won't start voting for some time
MindCrime Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 you can check the discographies on wikipedia, or ask us or something Do a search on Wikipedia for the artist + discography, then scroll down to Singles, they're listed in chronological order. Hope this helps.

MindCrime Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 More than a Feeling - Boston This one subject to change.
_Laurie_ Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Can't Get Enough ~ Bad Company (1974) For What It's Worth ~ Buffalo Springfield (1966)
MindCrime Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 how is it handled if a band's been in business for a couple of albums, and then gets new members that make it a new band, but it's still the same band name... is it considered a debut with the new band members? If they keep the same name it's the same band, if they change their name, it's a different band. (example: Fleetwood Mac was still the same band after Stevie Nicks joined, [smaller]which is where I know you were getting at[/smaller] )
_Laurie_ Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 MC don't change your Boston nom...I love that song!
BlueAngel Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Hoping someone else will nominate Oasis, The Clash, REM etc... "Fast Car" - Tracy Chapman "Solsbury Hill" - Peter Gabriel
