The Songfactors' Choice: Best Debut Single

Recommended Posts

how is it handled if a band's been in business for a couple of albums, and then gets new members that make it a new band, but it's still the same band name... is it considered a debut with the new band members?

my first reaction would be to say that it's still the same band...

otherwise I could almost nominate any album of Queens of the Stone Age (or the first single from it), because they only have one really permanent member :P

umm, I'm terribly sorry to say that, but...

Alice Cooper's first single was "Reflected"

and

The Turtles' first single was "It Ain't Me Babe"

you can check the discographies on wikipedia, or ask us or something :)

If they keep the same name it's the same band, if they change their name, it's a different band.

(example: Fleetwood Mac was still the same band after Stevie Nicks joined, [smaller]which is where I know you were getting at[/smaller] :P )
