miamisammy29
Another great one is "I Got Stoned and I Missed It" by Dr. Hook. I almost forgot about that one...diminishing short-term memory, ya know. It's even better live.
miamisammy29
Hey, yeah a good DON'T DO DRUGS song is Salvation by the Cranberries. And how about "Gimme No Crack" by Shinehead. I used to laugh my butt off when I would see that one on the MTV, circa 1985.
Elvish
I forgot one of my favorites: Weed With Willie by Toby Keith and Scotty Emerick. They performed it live for the first time at Willie's 70th birthday party and Willie was a really good sport about it. He was cracking up the whole time. . . hmmmmm, wonder why? I've always heard that his herb was top shelf Lord I just could not wait to find out for myself. Well don't knock it till you've tried it. And I've tried it my friend. I'll never smoke weed with Willie again! Now we learned a hard lesson in a small Texas town He fired up a fat boy and he passed it around The last words I spoke before they tucked me in, I'll never smoke weed with Willie again. [Chorus:] I'll never smoke weed with Willie again My party's all over before it begins You can pour me some Old Whiskey River my friend. But I'll never smoke weed with Willie again We hopped on his old bus the Honeysuckle Rose The party was Vegas, it was after the show Alone in the front lounge, just me and him With one parting puff, grim creeper set in [Chorus] Now we're passin' the guitar, tellin' good jokes I can tell one's a comin' 'cause I'm smellin' smoke No I do not partake I just let it pass by With a grin on my face and a great contact high [Chorus] In the fetal position with drool on my chin I broke down and smoked weed with Willie again ::

_jr_
Maybe it's just me, but the whole drugs and alcohol related posts seem, I don't know, uninteresting. I drank some in my early 20's, and I've smoked weed, maybe 1/2 dozen times in my teens, but found it just impaired my whole karma. I can't relate. DiggsUK
I listened to 'After the Gold Rush' by Neil Young today on the radio. What a brilliant atmospheric song, and if it isn't about opiate dreams I am a rabbit! Regards

MindCrime
Whoever said The Pusher by Steppenwolf, it's a protest against slinging drugs, not a praise for using them. Pink Floyd's songs aren't directly regarding drug use either. Some of my favorites: Alice in Chains - "Godsmack" Grateful Dead - "Casey Jones" Guns N' Roses - "Coma" Jefferson Airplane - "White Rabbit" Manfred Mann - "Snowblind Friend" Van Halen - "Ice Cream Man"
