Almost any good unplugged set is a keeper, but any live recording that has the feedback toned down & a clear sharp recording works. I've heard many live albums that sounded as if a person walked into concert with a tape recorder & just held it out during the band's set. I agree with a previous post that Led Zeppelin's How the West Was Won is the best, along with Rush's Exit Stage Left & Pink Floyd's Pulse set.

"KISS Alive" isn´t really a "live"-album. But there are some really great bootlegs like the "Cow Palace"-concert in Frisco in 1977. Other good live-recordings are "Blood, Sweat & Tears In Concert" and Carole King´s "The Carnegie Hall Concert 1971". Good German live-LPs are for example Extrabreit´s "Das grenzt schon an Musik" and "Bis zum bitteren Ende" from the Toten Hosen. These ones are REALLY live. And hot.

Excellent topic with several great choices. Another one to add to the list is the recently released live disc "The Name Of The Band Is Talking Heads" by the Talking Heads. It's a double disc set and is awesome. disc two features the outstanding guitar work of Adrian Belew.
