OLD 55
Trivia Question: This female artist was given a chance to record "A Groovy Kind of Love", but her producer refused to let her record a song with the word "groovy" in it... A couple of wild guesses from both sides of the Atlantic... Co-writer Carole Bayer Sager (U.S.) was married to Burt Bacharach in the 80s, so they probably knew each other in 1965. Maybe it was offered to Dionne Warwick ? OR Petula Clark covered it in the U.K. after The Mindbenders did. I think they may have shared the same Producer. Maybe she was offered it before them ? OLD 55
TRIVIA QUESTION WHO AM I I was a well known Musician, Born 1937, Died 2002. But I could have had a much shorter lifespan if I hadn't "lost" the draw for (or some people say I gave it up) the last remaining seat on an ill fated plane, which crashed over 50 years ago. Have a go without Googling.
_Laurie_
Oh that is just tooooo easy 55!
OLD 55
You're a good hearted woman to give someone else a chance Laurie. Not taking that seat lengthened his life by 43 years and 10 days. That would have been spooky if he'd died on the same day 43 years later.
_Laurie_
Oh I know...that would of been spooky, but then again that whole story was kind of spooky in a way also...

pinkstones
Waylon Jennings. I remember watching the Behind The Music special on that plane crash and apparently Buddy Holly said to him "Well I hope your bus crashes/freezes up" and he said to him "Well, I hope your old plane crashes" and how he was really affected by that for years afterward. OLD 55
Waylon it sure was Pink. He either lost the toss of the coin, or gave up his seat (don't know which story's correct) to J.P.Richardson a.k.a. The Big Bopper. ANOTHER TRIVIA QUESTION On which #1 Pop Record did The Big Bopper and country star George Jones do 'background Indian noises'.
