Levis 6 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 Hah! For once I am AHEAD of the curve! Passion Pit make indie-electro-pop along the lines of MGMT with the tiniest smidgen of Scissor Sisters thrown in. This is the song I woke up to this morning: The Reeling Here's their MySpace with a few other songs. And here they are on last.fm Try them, try them
Farin 2 Report post Posted May 13, 2009 from what I heard right now, I actually like Sleepyhead more than the Reeling good stuff though
Levis 6 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 Manners streamable on their MySpace, go listen NOW! This guy is aiming for you if you don't --->

Levis 6 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 s'awrite, I'm not nuts about them, I just think they're catchy so people might like
Batman 2 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 Passion Pit rocks! I prefer their 2008 EP "Chunk of Change" a bit over Manners though, mostly because I want to seem really cool but also because it seemed a bit more unique. The EP wasn't meant to be heard by the masses, it was just this guy's valentine's day present to his girlfriend. But yeah, Passion Pit, they are really good. So far "Manners" is in my top 5 of 2009. Batman 2 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 by the way, Sleepyhead is my 2nd favorite song of 2008! Good call on that one Farin. If it counts, it's my 1st favorite of 2009.
Foolonthehill 0 Report post Posted July 14, 2009 should I get the EP or the new album first?
Farin 2 Report post Posted July 14, 2009 album ...even though I don't know the EP, but the album is really good
Levis 6 Report post Posted July 15, 2009 The EP is better than the album, tho - it's what I was told to check out when I whinged about the repetitiveness of the album.
Farin 2 Report post Posted July 15, 2009 I don't think it was too repetitive, at least not in a bad way
Levis 6 Report post Posted July 15, 2009 Oh no I like Manners, but Sleepyhead is the only song that sounds different.
Batman 2 Report post Posted July 17, 2009 Totally changed my opinion since the last time I posted in this thread, but now I very much prefer the album. In my opinion, the EP kind of loses its effect too quickly. I mean, it wasn't really built to last. The band (at the time just one man) didn't think too many people would hear it (as previously mentioned, he made it for his girlfriend as a valentine's day present). Now that PP is a full band, and they know a ton of people are listening to them, you can just tell they are trying a lot harder. They put a lot more effort into the album than the EP. I also disagree with Levis in that I think the songs on the EP are more samey sounding than the songs on the LP. Not that either one really suffers from repetetiveness in my opinion. Probably worth checking out both though. Most people don't like the EP and LP equally. Everyone I know seems to have a really strong preference towards one or the other. Levis 6 Report post Posted August 17, 2009 Nah I completely overlooked that song till a friend of mine played it and talked of it as very different from the more drum-heavy rest of the album. I hadn't really noticed it before then
Batman 2 Report post Posted August 22, 2009 It's really quite funny how different our opinions are on this band we both like...that is probably my least favorite off the album! Still pretty good though.
Levis 6 Report post Posted August 22, 2009 Really? That is weird! I found Swimming in the Flood much more universally accessible, probably because it ALSO deviates from this 'sameness' that I keep going on about. Which might just be my imagination since here's another song that's different.
