miamisammy29
MUSICAL INTERLUDE Weeeelllll, woke up this morning with a wine glass in my hand. Whose wine? What wine? Where the hell did I dine? Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been. Come on, let's do it again. Do you...you, feel like I do? How'd ya feel? Do you...you, feel like I do? My friend got busted, just the other day. They said,"Don't walk, don't walk, don't walk away." Drove into a taxi, bent the boot, hid the bag. Had to play some music, otherwise he'd crash Do you...you, feel like I do? How'd ya feel? Do you...you, feel like I... [1st guitar solo] Do you...you, feel like I do? Yes ya do. Do you...you, feel like I do? Champagne for breakfast and a Sherman in my hand. Bleach coat, bleach tails, never fails. Must have been a dream I don't believe where I've been. Come on, let's do it again. Do you...you, feel like I do? How'd ya feel? Do you...you, feel like I... [keyboard solo] "Bob Mayo, on the keyboards. Bob Mayo"

Steel2Velvet
"Happy Birthday to you ...." There's no second place tune even close to this one. Well, maybe "Auld Lang Syne" is close
MuzikTyme
"Twinkle, twinkle, li'l star" Should have a place as being one of the most recognizable lyrics of all-time. I think. I've always thought that the most recognizable lyric is the one most of us heard as an infant cradled in our mother's safe arms. Though it was usually hummed, some talented mothers actually sang the words gleefully to their newborn child . . . the song was written by a German composer, Johannes Brahms and it went beautifully... some may not know the words but I'm certain many know the tune. like this Guten Abend, gute Nacht, mit Rosen bedacht, Mit Näglein besteckt, schlüpf unter die Deck!' Morgen früh, wenn Gott will, wirst du wieder geweckt Morgen früh, wenn Gott will, wirst du wieder geweckt Guten Abend, gute Nacht, von Englein bewacht Die zeigen im Traum, dir Christkindleins Baum Schlaf nun selig und süß, schau im Traum's Paradies Schlaf nun selig und süß, schau im Traum's Paradies English translation: (loose) Lullaby and good night In the sky stars are bright Close your eyes Start to yawn Pleasant dreams 'til the dawn Close your eyes Start to rest Lay your head on my chest Sleepy eyes Now you'll rest May your slumber be blessed. . . Otokichi
Speaking of "safe and secure," how about this lullaby that sounds sinister if you study the lyrics! "Rock A Bye Baby" Rock-a-bye baby, in the tree top When the wind blows, the cradle will rock When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall And down will come baby, cradle and all I can see/hear the child welfare folk and police headed your way with determined intent... Viaene
A-Wop-bop-a-loo-lop a-lop-bam-boo Tutti Frutti, all over rootie,..... A-wop-bop-a-loo-lop a-lop bam boo Little anecdote about that not being the most recognizable lyric: We were at the yearly festivities in Ghent, where I go to uni and there was a place where they played rock'n roll and swing music. I love this kind of music so I was doin' a little dance, waiting for a smash hit to go crazy So the DJ started the "A-Wop-bop-a-loo-lop a-lop-bam-boo" and I was like woohoo :happybanana: My friends looked at me like I've finally gone completely mad and my gf said: "do you know that song? and I said: "what? of course I do!" and I dragged her to the dance floor and we danced like never before. skybluesky
Perhaps that was due more to your friends age, or musical taste, rather than the lyric not being recognizable
Viaene
Maybe, they still need some education regarding music. I'm working on that
MuzikTyme
I wish this next song was as recognizable as I think it should be . . . Baby Love "There is no love that can compare to you." The most recognizable song lyric "ever written" is..."Twinkle twinkle li'l star." Ask any child and remember.
