Crazeh! Last week I nominated UK noiseniks Nerve Rack's "Rottweillers", which features the lyric "My eyes are hollow ground" . This week, we have Tanita Tikaram's "Twist In My Sobriety", featuring the lyric "My eyes are just holograms".

These lines sound eerily similar. I wonder if, perchance, the two are somehow related? :shades:

even more incidentally, this poster thought for the longest time that the line in Tikaram's song is actually "My eyes are just hollow grounds"

about a possible relation... I guess the only way to find that out is to ask either or both of the songwriters directly ;)

 I was searching SF for Twist in My Sobriety and came across you saying the exact same thing a few years ago

So, I'm starting to repeat myself? :(

When you say "exact same thing", just how exactly did I repeat myself? Because that concerns me. Repeating the fact doesn't worry me too much, but ...identical wording...that's going too far.

Okay, you detected a flaw in my wording. :shades:

I think you misunderstood me, mate. I wasn't challenging you, or trying to detect any flaws in your wording. I was questioning my apparent cognitive deterioration, I guess. What I meant was; it's one thing to more or less repeat an observation I made a couple of years ago- that's fairly standard behaviour- but quite another if I actually employed the same phraseology to do so. That, I would find worrying; a sign of impending senile decripitude. Am I making sense?

Incidentally, the guy who wrote "Rottweillers" by Nerve Rack sez: although he had heard the Tanita Tikaram record, it was repeated listening of Liza Minelli's cover version of "Twist In My Sobriety", (on her Pet Shop Boys collaboration album "Results"), which led to the words being deliberately misrepresented in his own song. JFYI.
