OLD 55
WELCOME TO THE GOLDEN OLDIES TOP 40 #11. All members of Songfacts are most welcome to vote and help create next week's Top 40. OLD 55
TRIVIA QUESTION. There are two songs above (that I know of - could be more) that have people, who to my knowledge never wrote a song, listed as likely 'bogus' co-writers. Any ideas which ones ? OLD 55
While you're thinkin' - have a go at this. TRIVIA QUESTION. There are two songs above (that I know of - could be more) that have people, who to my knowledge never wrote a song, listed as likely 'bogus' co-writers. Any ideas which ones ? Here's a couple of hints. One was a well known singer included as co-songwriter on this record, presumably at the insistence of his manager. ANSWERED BY MINDCRIME. The other was a leading DJ of his time. Somehow his name was 'included' as co-songwriter on this singer/songwriter's first Pop Hit. ANSWERED BY LUCKY. OLD 55
Carl (The Chief) has faith in the potential of our GO Top 40. He's given it a separate sub-forum in 'Music Discussion Classic'. Thanks very much Carl. We hope we can now justify his action by gaining new voters, together with our loyal band of regulars, and expand our weekly GO Top 40 to make it a feature here. The more voters we have of course, the more diverse the Chart will be. A big thanks to Lucky also for combining the Charts into one thread. Lucky
The other was a leading DJ of his time. Somehow his name was 'included' as co-songwriter on this singer/songwriter's first Pop Hit. When "Maybellene" was released it was credited to Chuck Berry & Alan Freed a New York DJ of the time involved in the payola scandals.
