Levis
Isn't there a Lynyrd Skynyrd song? Truck driving man? Blind Melon has a song called Dumptruck - it only mentions the dumptruck at the very end: Burned a hand of a friend of mine And Bub I know that you could fly a mile high You told me nothing's ever gonna come between Nothing's ever gonna come between Nothing's ever gonna come between My dumptruck and me
Shawna
These were the first two that came to mind. I'll see if I can find more... Speed by Montgomery Gentry I'm tired of spinning my wheels I need to find a place where my heart can go to heal I need to get there pretty quick Hey, mister, what you got out on that lot You can sell me in a pinch Maybe one of them supped-up muscle cars The kind that makes you think you're stronger than you are Color don't matter, no, I don't need leather seats All that really concerns me is Speed How fast will it go Can it get me over her quickly, zero to sixty Can it outrun her memory Yeah, what I really need is an open road And a whole lot of speed I'd like to trade in this old truck Cuz it makes me think of her and then just slows me up See, it's the first place we made love Where we used to sit and talk on the tailgate all night long But now she's gone And I need to move on So give me Speed How fast will it go Can it get me over her quickly, zero to sixty Can it outrun her memory Yeah, what I really need is an open road And a whole lot of speed Throw me them keys so I can put some miles between us Tear off that rearview mirror, there's nothing left to see Let me lean on that gas cuz she catches up fast So give me Speed How fast will it go Can it get me over her quickly, zero to sixty Can it outrun her memory Yeah, what I really need is an open road And a whole lot of speed That's what I need I'm tired of spinnin' my wheels I'm tired of spinnin' my wheels *** 8 Second Ride by Jake Owen Well hey girl whats your name? Haven't I seen you before? I recognized them dark green eyes when u dosey doed across the floor Are you alone or are you with someone? She said a matter of fact im not so i took her hand thats when it all began and we headed towards the parking lot Chorus: And she said hey boy, do you mind takin' me home tonight? 'Cause I aint never seen a country boy with tires on his truck this high I said climb on up but watch the cup that I spit my dip inside and hold on tight 'cause its gonna be wilder than any 8 second ride We went riding round rocking to the sound of "Country Boy Can Surivive" and I knew then that she was my kind of girl 'cause she was singing every single line Then she slid on over put my hand on her shoulder and I aksed her what she wanted to do She said it (REALLY) dont matter where we go just as long as I'm riding with you Chorus: And she said hey boy, do you mind takin me home tonite? 'Cause I aint never seen a country boy with tires on his truck this high I said climb on up but watch the cup that I spit my dip inside and hold on tight 'cause its gonna be wilder than any 8 second ride So we headed out to old tobacco road Put the tailgate down and we made love She said true country boys hard to find but I found one wilder than any 8 second ride ***********
Foolonthehill
This is mostly about potatoes and PEI, but trucking features too: Bud The Spud- Stompin' Tom Conners Chorus: Well it's Bud the Spud, from the bright red mud, Rollin' down the highway smilin', The spuds are big on the back of Bud's rig, There from Prince Edward Island, There from Prince Edward Island. Now from Charlottetown, or from Summerside, They load him up for the long long ride; He jumps in the cab and he's off with the Pride Sebagoes. He's gotta catch a boat to make Tormentine, Then he hits up that old New Brunswick line, Through Montreal he comes just a flyin' With another big load of potatoes. Chorus Well, the cops have been lookin' for the son of a gun That's been rippin' the tar off the four-O-one; They know the name on the truck shines up in the sun -- "Green Gables." But he hits Toronto and at seven o'clock, He backs her up again at the terminal dock, And the boys gather `round just to hear him talk About another big load of potatoes. "Hey bud." Is that you callin' "Ya Bud, what are you haulin'?" Got another big load of the best potatoes that's ever been growed. "Where are they from?" They're from Prince Edward Island. "Where?" They're from Prince Edward Island. "Oh, do you like potatoes?" Do I like potatoes? I like: Mashed potatoes Boiled potatoes Scalloped potato Whipped potato Curried potato French-fried potatoes Baked potato "Hash browns!" Potato chips Potato roti Potato soup Potato salad Potato knish Potato pari Potato gelatti Potato fritters Potato pancakes "Buddy, oh I want a potato pancake!" Chorus Now I know a lot of people from east to west And they like the spuds from the island best, `Cause they stand up to the hardest test -- Right at the table; So when you see that old truck rolling by, Kinda wave your hand or wink your eye, `Cause that's Bud the Spud, from P.E.I. With another big load He's got another big load He's got another big load of potatoes!
JumboXL
A pick-up truck is mentioned in Memory Motel, by the Rolling Stones: She drove a pick-up truck Painted green and blue The tires were wearing thin She turned a mile or two When I asked her where she headed for "Back up to Boston I'm singing in a bar" I got to fly today on down to Baton Rouge My nerves are shot already The road ain't all that smooth Across in Texas is the rose of San Antone I keep on a feeling that's gnawing in my bones Edited March 30, 2009 by Guest

Epiphany
Don McLean's American Pie mentions a pick-up truck: I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck With a pink carnation and a pickup truck, But I knew I was out of luck The day the music died. P.S. Weird Al has a song called "Truck Drivin' Song;" it's not about a pick-up truck but, it's funny.
Uncle Joe
Back in 1966 when I first arrived at my platoon in Germany there was a guy from Georgia named Aubrey Wilkinson. He'd play this song over and over and over...well, you get the idea. He'd listen and his eyes would get all misty. I grew to hate this awful song....but it's about a truck. Giddy Up Go-Red Sovine God, I hate that song.
