edna
Though to be fair, you succumbed the instant this thread was created. I beg your pardon?
Farin
What Radhi meant, was that while this thread was started to satirise the twitter phenomenon, almost every poster here actually did use it like they would twitter, without making fun of it. (and maybe, but that's just my speculation, without realising it)
Levis
^ bingo ...and QED - In the event that I actually do change my research topic (because I haven't properly settled on one yet) I am definitely using this thread as evidence
edna
Oh, I see... But I post here and "twitter" as a joke... I won't sign up there.
Shawna
which is opposite me, I signed up with Twitter and haven't made a single post there. I just signed up to see what it looked like.
Lea
Ditto for me Shawna. I just wanted to see what all the hoopla was about. I seriously doubt I will ever post to it I did add some SFer's to follow tho. At least the ones I recognized.
Levis
See, you don't need to post to twitter, you're already doing it here. The argument 'why would I want to announce what I am doing every second of the day' is null and void as proven by these 100 pages of thread. Furthermore, a lot of people on twitter don't literally post what they are doing at any given point of time. So that makes this is even more banal. edna
which is opposite me, I signed up with Twitter and haven't made a single post there. I didn't sign up either... I haven't even been there... Songfacts fullfils all my needs...
berjo1429030949
I'll take a stab at twittering here... Well, its fast approaching 7:30 am (EST) and the eastern sky is a pale pinkish colour. Cool too. I guess I should get more food into me. I'm a big time breakfast eater. I've already ate one bowl of LIFE cereal, a bowl of instant oatmeal (with brown sugar) and my blueberry/bran muffin that packs a little more than 300 calories (I add extra margarine which probably makes it around 450 calories). And then my usual can of Diet Pepsi (I don't drink coffee).
Levis
no no no! 140 characters or less!
berjo1429030949
You mean SF can't bend the rules?
Levis
No, see, then it's call 'posting' Anyway we have specific threads for whatever 140+ character 'tweets' you might have 'what grinds your gears', 'what sweetens your coffee', 'what are you craving', 'what are you eating/drinking' etc. SF (any message board actually) was twitter before twitter existed
berjo1429030949
Sure, no problem. This is only the 2nd thread I've run into with rules. I guess I'll go seek another and make it three in a row. P.S. Don't read into my words, I don't mean any disparaging remarks to anyone or at this site. That tone is my usual self-jest that could be easily misconstrued.
Levis
Oh no, I don't read into words, I just read words! I'm just trying to point out the irony in a thread that was originally meant to be 'satirical' so to speak (as in 'haha twitter, what a stupid concept') yet took on a perfectly serious life of its own (as in 'right now I'm doing this...') berjo1429030949
and yes, I understand the irony. I just didn't think you (or the original poster unless it was you) were that serious.
Lucky
Personally I feel no need to tweet. I think that you won't find one tweet or twit in this thread from me. And now, before it's pointed out to me ..... I've just negated that.
