Fat Lip - Sum 41

Heavy metal and mullets, it's how we were raised.

MAIDEN and PRIEST were the gods that we praised.

Till I Collapse - Eminem

I got a list here's the order of my list that it's in.

It goes, Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie, Andre from Outcast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me.

But in this industry I'm the cause of a lot of envy, so when I’m not put on this list the ******* does not offend me.

That's why you see me walk around like nothing's bothering me.

Even though half you people got a ******* problem with me.

You hate it but you know respect you’ve got to give me

The press's wet dream like Bobby and Whitney. Nate hit me.

Eminem - We Made You

Jessica Simpson...singing the chorus!

Brit, forget K-Fed, let's cut out the middleman

Forget him or you'll end up in the hospital again

And this time it won't be for the Ritalin binge

Forget them other men, girl pay them little attention

And little did I mention that Jennifer's in love with me John Mayer, so sit on the bench

Man, I swear them other guys you give 'em an inch

They take a mile, they got style, but it isn't Slim

and of course the most obvious....

Brian Wilson - The Barenaked Ladies

[Chorus]

Lying in bed just like Brian Wilson did

Well I'm lying in bed just like Brian Wilson did.

Also Like Toy Soldiers by Eminem features a lot of artists including Dr. Dre, Jay-z, NAS, and Ja Rule.

Also many Eminem songs (especially his earlier stuff) features Dr. Dre's name a lot

Did anybody mention "Kim Gordon's Panties", by Rapeman? Rapeman was Steve Albini's ill-named combo twixt Big Black and Shellac, (which also featured Rey Washam and David Wm. Sims, both formerly of Scratch Acid)

The song is less seedy than it sounds: Albini was on friendly terms with Sonic Youth - they were UK label-mates at the time - and the "song" allegedly refers to Kim's attempts to procure disposable underwear from a dispensing machine, whilst the bands were touring together. Or somesuch.

And has anyone said Hank Jr? He has had a couple :)

From Young Country

...We like ole' Waylon, hey we know Van Halen

We like ZZ Top, We like country and rock

Oh Hank would be proud, and Elvis would too

Cause we like our country, mixed with some big city blues...

All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settled Down)~ Hank Williams, Jr.

All my rowdy friends have settled down

And they seem to be more into laid back songs

Nobody wants to get drunk and get loud

Everybody just wants to go back home

I myself have seen my wilder days

And I have seen my name at the top of the page

But I need to find a friend just to run around

But nobody wants to get high on the town

And all my rowdy friends have settled down

And I think I know what my father meant

When he sang about a lost highway

And ol' George Jones I'm glad to see is finally gettin' straight

And Waylon's stayin' home and lovin' Jessi more these days

And nobody wants to get drunk and get loud

And all my rowdy friends have settled down

And the hangovers hurt more than they used to do

And cornbread and ice tea's took the place of pills and ninety proof

And it seems like none of us do things quite like we used to do

But nobody wants to get high on the town

And all my rowdy friends have settled down

Yeah and I think I know what my father meant when he sang about a lost highway

And Johnny Cash don't act like he did back in '68

And Kris he is a movie star and he's moved off to LA

And nobody wants to get drunk and get loud

And all my rowdy friends have settled down

Yeah me and my rowdy friends done rowded on down

And here's a Kris Kristofferson song that was covered by Bocephus:

I dig Bobby Dylan and I dig Johnny Cash

And I think Waylon Jennings is a table thumpin' smash

And hearin' Joni Mitchell feels as good as smokin' grass

And if you don't like Hank Williams, honey, you can kiss my ass

Chorus:

'Cause I think what they've done is well worth doin'

And they're doin' it the best way that they can

You're the only one that you are screwin'

When you put down what you don't understand

I said, I dig Roger Miller, Merle Haggard; George Jones

Shotgun Willie Nelson and them rockin' Rollin' Stones

And Jerry Lee's still gotta be the coolest in the class

And if you don't like Hank Williams, honey, you can kiss my ass.

Chorus:

'Cause I think what they've done is well worth doin'

And they're doin' it the best way that they can

You're the only one that you are screwin'

When you put down what you don't understand

I doubt this one's been done. Charlie Daniels runs through the list of Southern Rock:

The South's Gonna Do It - Charlie Daniels

Well, the train to Grinder's Switch is runnin' right on time

And them Tucker Boys are cookin' down in Caroline

People down in Florida can't be still

When ol' Lynyrd Skynrd's pickin' down in Jacksonville

People down in Georgia come from near and far

To hear Richard Betts pickin' on that red guitar

So gather 'round, gather 'round chillun'

Get down, well just get down chillun'

Get loud, well you can be loud and be proud

Well you can be proud, hear now

Be proud you're a rebel

Cause the South's gonna do it again and again

Elvin Bishop's sittin' on a bale of hay

He ain't good lookin', but he sure can play

And there's ZZ Top and you can't forget

That old brother Willie's gettin' soakin' wet

And all the good people down in Tennessee

Are diggin' barefoot Jerry and C.D.B

So gather 'round, gather 'round chillun'

Get down, well just get down chillun'

Get loud, well you can be loud and be proud

Well you can be proud, hear now

Be proud you're a rebel

Cause the South's gonna do it again and again

Redneck Woman ~ Gretchen Wilson (mentions she knows every Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker and Bocephus song at separate points)

Tim McGraw ~ Taylor Swift (“when you think Tim McGraw, I hope you think my favorite songâ€)

4th of July ~ Shooter Jennings

“We sang Stranglehold to the stereo

Couldn't take no more of that rock n roll

So we put on a little George Jones and just sang alongâ€

David Allan Coe ~ The Ride (“you don’t have to call me mister, Mister: the whole world calls me Hank“) and You Never Even Call Me By My Name:

Well, you don't have to call me Waylon Jennings

And you don't have to call me Charley Pride

And you don't have to call me Merle Haggard, anymore.

Even though you're on my fightin' side.

Also, he has Willie, Waylon and Me:

I'd heard The Burritos out in California

could fly higher than The Byrds

Roger McQuinn had a 12 string guitar.

It was like nothing I'd ever heard

And The Eagles flew in from the west coast

Like The Byrds they were trying to be free

While in Texas the talk turned to Outlaws

Like Willie and Waylon and me.

Hey!

Well that somewhere Texas music is in the make

And we've been making music that is free

Doing one night stands and playing with our bands

Willie, Waylon and me

They say The Beatles were just the beginning

of everything music could be

Just like The Stones I was rolling alone

Like a ship lost out on the sea

And Joplin would die for the future

And Dylan would write poetry

And in Texas the talk turned to Outlaws

Like Willie and Waylon and me

Hey!

My name is David Allen Coe and I'm from Dallas Texas.

They say Texas music is in the make

And we've been making music that is free

Doing one night stands and playing with our bands

Willie, Waylon and me

I'd heard The Burritos out in California

could fly higher than The Byrds

Roger McQuinn had a 12 string guitar.

It was like nothing I'd ever heard

And The Eagles flew in from the west coast

Like The Byrds they were trying to be free
